In 2002, Hanlan’s Point Beach became one of the few clothing optional beaches in Canada. The beach itself is a short walk from the Hanlan’s Point ferry docks, on the island. To get to the beach, it is a short walk across the island. The beach is shielded by bushes and trees, and includes a wooden walkway across the beach. There is a wide strip of land beside the beach where clothing is required, so keep a lookout for signs. This clothing optional beach is great for getting that perfect tan, and the water is refreshing. Since the beach faces away from the city, the water is clean and meets the “Blue Flag Standard”.

To get to the island by TTC, take the 509 or 510 streetcar from Union station to the Bay and Queen’s Quay stop. The 6 Bay bus southbound also takes you to Bay and Queen’s Quay. The walkway to the ferry is on the west side of the Westin.
