The Toronto Beaches News!

Google's #1 site for info on Toronto's Beaches and surrounding area!

A Breath of Fresh Air in the City of Toronto

The Beach area of Toronto is truly a wonderful little community of beautiful older homes and a very pretty lakefront with a boardwalk to take a leisurely stroll. Queen street is filled with quaint little shops, restaurants and pubs. In the summer the Jazz festival is a fabulous attraction with Queen street closed off to all the musicains and vendors for an entire weekend. The Beaches is one of the safest areas in all of Toronto and clean too! If you are visiting Toronto swing by the Beaches and have a cup of coffee on Queen st. or just take a walk on the boardwalk away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core.

Woodbine Beach

The boardwalk is great for strolls and rollerblading. I had a bday party there and the picnic areas are wonderful (lots of green grass and tall trees). Definitely a place for everybody.

Centre Island

A short ferry ride from downtown takes you to the Toronto Islands, where you'll find beaches, plenty of green space and trees, beautiful gardens, recreational activities like biking, canoeing and volleyball, and an amusement park (called Centreville) for kids. It doesn't feel like you're in Toronto at all. Residents live on the island all year round, but the most popular time to visit is definitely the summer. I like coming here in the fall. It's beautiful when the leaves change colour. There's a restaurant by the harbour where you can grab a drink and snack and watch the sailboats go by on the lake. It's a relaxing retreat from the city. Regular adult fare to take the ferry over is $6.50, and it's $3 for kids under 14.

The Beaches really are a great place to live!

I was at Ashbridges Bay the other day visiting my friend on his boat and the place just keeps looking better and better down there all the time. I took a nice stroll on the long Boardwalk along woodbine beach and was amazed at all the different things going on and everyone was having a good time. Wish I lived here I would go for a walk every day!
